Roothawg's vintage pics.
Posted by roothawg on the hamb, these pics are a nice glimpse into the early days of drag racing.

Here's Root's Pop, sitting on the running board of his 35 pickup.
Wrenching on a Willys, Pop's truck on the left.
Same scene, different angle. (I think)
Truck gets a good dig on the line
Here's what gives it the urge. Tri-carbed Chev 283.
Here's what it looks like today, still owned by Root's Dad.

Back to the drags: A 32 5 window drag coupe.
The hot set-up, a scallop sided Vette, sporting the latest mags.
Same Vette, receiving a bit of attention. Note healthy blower.
T-bodied Comp altered.
Hmmm. No barriers, and look at those poles!!!
Love these old competition coupes, basically a dragster with a flimsy coupe body hung over the back end.
Same car leaving the line.
A roadster featuring a mucho setback engine. Cowl sides completely gone!
Lurker Mick chimed in with the program cover from one of the venues the rest of the pics were taken at.
OKC 1957.
The Parr T, early pic, spindly wires, no signwriting.
Later pic of the same car, Colour camera too!. Just gotta love that 59 El Camino tow/push car.

Thanks, Root, for sharing these pics with us.
