Coop (the artist) sent me a pic of his A sedan in as-bought condition.
Mart,
How you doin' My name's George. I live in Riverbank, Ca. This
is my jalopy. Built and driven by me. I had a little help from my dad,
a little more help from Mike and Leroy at California Hotrods in Sonora,Ca.
and a lot of tolerance from my wife. I've got a 283 with six 97's ander
no hood coupled to a '39 box, turning a '40 rearend, and stopped by '48
brakes with Buick drums. And yes the beater is all steel.
Thanks for having such a bitchin website,
George
UK rodder Ian Drury, sent me some pics of his neat-o roadster pickup.
Car was hand built by Drew's speed shop.
Ian has more than one wheel and tyre combo to try out. Fenders
keep the law at bay.
G'day Mart seems like ages since I've been able to load the
site I dunno why , anyway enjoyed cruisin' around and the the new pics
, check out the latest re-encarnation of my colonial white sunliner , recently
flashed it up with some Dean Jefferies inspired scallops and pinstripes
then fitted some original 60-70 E/T 5 spokers , had them fully polished
this time around , and some skinny W/W's for that early 60's mild custom
flavour , CYA Rick Lowe
Hi Mart,
First, thanks for your site. I love it, my wife hates
it! (I start looking through it and she falls asleep on the couch waiting
for me and wakes up mad!) Second, I'm attaching a couple of shots of our
Studebaker. We no longer have it. We bought it in 1984. It had been chopped
and not finished. It was sitting beside a body shop with no windows. I
drove it away from the shop with a temporary license plate and no windshield.
It had the original 259ci "Bearcat" V8 and an automatic. We drove it on
about an 800 mile round trip to the KKOA Leadsled Spectacular in 1985 and
got around 21 miles per gallon. It was a cruiser.
The old Stude was full of putty when we bought. I only
paid $1,500 for it chopped and it was pretty solid mechanically. I knew
that the guy I bought it from was famous for his "putty" work, but I loved
the car. He had chopped it and never finished it. I had the hood louvered,
nosed, decked and door handles shaved. The entire 10 years we had it, I
only had $5,000 total in the car. I sold it in 1994 to a friend that put
a lot of time and money in it.
Take care and thanks again, Pat & Erin Maphis Abingdon,
MD USA.
No name on the e-mail, no text, but the file says honest 32. I
didn't doubt it for a moment.
Mart,
Great site. love Ed Duarte's pics of the old 'roaring roadsters'.
His pics seem to be of the northern california cars, rather than CRA stuff
(the better known guys....). (I dunno..Mart)
I'm a model builder from cincinnati oh & have included some
pics of my work. if you can use such, please do so. & I have more.
just let me know.
Rob Shelby.
Nice work Rob.
Roy Jenkinson recently bought this neat-o 38 tudor sedan. He only
lives a few miles from here, must drop over and have a look at the old
girl.
All stock, still running 6V, a nice looking old car.
Richard Spurling sent this snap with no info.
